Fairy Tale Portrait Session Information

What goes into making a portrait

Unless you are familiar with this type of work, you may not realize how much time & work is involved in making one beautiful portrait.

So here is a little illustration of what I do ...

Ideas... come up with a plan, design costumes, props and accessories.

This could take a couple weeks if I order online or shop for something.

Day before the session..

Move furniture to set up a mini studio in my home.

This involves a lot of unpacking of boxes and costumes to set out, as well as flowers and other items I may use around my home for sets.

Lighting set up, back drop and any set arrangements.

Shooting, changing lenses, directing posing, lighting, fixing hair and crowns, tiring. Sleep....

Day 3, I re- pack everything, clean and move the furniture back.

Looking though tons of photos to pick the favorites to edit.

I spend 1+ hours on ONE photo depending on the complexity.

This could take a couple of weeks.

Creating a webpage for the client with all the portrait choices for additional purchase.

Photographers make it look so easy, but the job is hard.

But it's always been my love, and to create something beautiful is a dream.

Hope you enjoyed a peek into my imaginary world. :-)

Costumes and headpieces  are made by me or thrifted, jewelry, wigs, and accessories are purchased from

 Ali Xpress
